Don't Give Up! LaunchÜ

Don't Give Up! was launched at Tredegar House, Newport, on Saturday March 6th 2010, kicking off the first full day of the Newport 2010 Festival. The event began at 10am with a 2 hour community concert comprising performances from Urban Circle, Gaer Junior School, Rockin' Reesy's World of Dance, Malpas Church in Wales school, Kitty Bevan, SaxforFun and Côr Casnewydd, with over 300 performers coming together for the first official performance of the charity song.

The music video was launched at Cineworld Newport on Monday 8th March 2010, with entertainment from our chamber choir and presentations forming part of an exciting evening. The single is now available for digital download, and we are registered with the UK singles charts. Our first exciting project at Côr Casnewydd is to record an original pop single for Tenovus, Wales' own Cancer Charity and an official partner of Ryder Cup Wales 2010 Ltd!

The single, entitled Don't Give Up! will involve a thousand children from across NP postcode areas, and will be made available for both physical purchase and digital download nationwide. Rehearsals and recording sessions have already been filmed by students from the National Diploma Media Production class at Coleg Gwent at locations across the borough, and are now being added to charity footage to make an accompanying music video, which will be available on the internet and on the CD. After recording, the song will also be entered into the UK singles chart.

Don't Give Up! SingingÜ

Don't Give Up! is going on tour, with performances coming up around Wales in the run-up to the launch, performance at the Millennium Centre in Cardiff in March, and performance with Peter Karrie at the Riverfront Theatre in April.

The song will be passed around Wales in an amazing interactive performance. In the last few months, the project has featured on S4C twice, on the Wedi 7 and Ffeil shows.
